My Teaching Style

What I teach
I have been teaching group classes since 2021 and specialize in trauma-influenced Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga. Vinyasa yoga offers a dynamic and invigorating practice that combines physical movement with breath awareness and mindfulness. My vinyasa class sequences are based on functional movement, combining traditional asana with creative transitions that challenge strength, stability, mobility, and linking breath to movement. What makes these classes very different and special, is my trauma-influenced approach. While this is not a traditional trauma-informed style, a trauma-influenced approach provides a nourishing experience for all. There are no hands-on adjustments or assists given by myself, body autonomy is crucial and self-adjustments, variations, and options are constantly offered, and somatic experiencing is interwoven throughout the class.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga that focuses on stretching and releasing tension in the deeper layers of connective tissues around the joints. I started teaching Yin Yoga in 2021 and in 2023, I completed a specialty 100 hour Mindful and Therapeutic Yin Yoga certification where I studied elements of Chinese Medicine, anatomy, Buddhist concepts, and somatic experiencing. I think outside the box when it comes to traditional Yin poses, using my anatomical knowledge and experience from assisted stretching and Thai Bodywork to create an experience of deep release in both the body and the mind.

Private One-on-One Sessions
Private holistic yoga and movement sessions offer personalized guidance and support for individuals seeking to improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a yoga or movement practice. Each session is tailored to the client’s specific needs, goals, and health conditions. I teach from a holistic, trauma -informed lens, which means I incorporate multiple modalities and schools of thought when in session with a client. This includes but is not limited to breathwork, meditation, mindfulness techniques, somatic movement and experiencing, core stability and proper breathing mechanics, primal movement, functional movement and strength training, and traditional yoga asana. Whether recovering from an injury, looking to correct form, build strength, connect to emotions held within the body, process grief and trauma through somatics, or to deepen your connection to your regular practice, I am here to support you. I start by assessing your current physical condition (flexibility, strength, and any areas of concern or limitation) . Based on this assessment and your goals, a plan is developed to address these areas through appropriate holistic strengthening, mobility, and yoga techniques.
